Research at the Institute of Physiology and Pathophysiology focuses on the following areas:

  • Metabolism of fat and bone tissue in relation to obesity
  • Nutritional deficits in patients after bariatric treatment
  • Monogenic types of obesity focusing on children
  • Experimental endoscopic methods of obesity treatment
  • Reaction of the organism to heat and cold
  • Physical fitness and health among emergency response workers (firefighters, mine rescue teams, paramedics)
  • Influence of long-term light deprivation on changes in the cardiovascular, sensory and endocrine systems
