AnotationCampylobacteriosis is currently the most common bacterial intestinal infection in our country and worldwide. The causative agent is Campylobacter jejuni. Typing methods can be used to monitor the epidemiological development of any infection, which help determine the relationship between individual strains of bacteria. Although many phenotypic and genotypic typing methods exist, typing is not routinely performed for campylobacters, unlike Salmonella. The aim of this study is to compare typing methods and assess the possibility of their routine use in the clinical laboratory. Pulsed field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) method, the MALDI TOF mass spektrometry, the method routinely used mainly for the identification of bacteria, and multilocus sequence typing (MLST).
