AnotationThe aim of this study is to evaluate the effect of sensory deprivation on selected physiological parameters in young people and its potential for the desynchronization of circadian rhythms. The principle of the study is a sensory deprivation that would be carried out on the so-called CHAMBER REST model during the exposure of a person in absolute darkness and minimal external sound stimuli for a period of time. In this case of study it would be 96 hours long stay in dark chamber. Electrocardiography (ECG), heart rate variability (HRV) and blood pressure measurements as a possible indicator of changes in circadian rhythms and physiological abnormalities were included among the monitored parameters. The other parameters studied include visual perimeter and electroretinography (ERG) to monitor the effects of darkness on the visual apparatus and possible changes in its functioning, with such a long visual deprivation. A complementary study is essential mainly for increasing the volunteer group and for more accurate interpretation of the results, which will be reflected in the validity of publications. Thanks to an expanded group of probands, the possibility of evaluating gender differences and circa-annular periods (seasons) can also be evauluated.
