AnotationSocially excluded localities (SLEs) represent parts of a village where a number of social problems exist, such as low incomes, high unemployment, poor living conditions, lack of infrastructure, crime and others. These areas are often isolated from the rest of society and can be unfortunately stigmatised as problem neighbourhoods or ghettos. These areas are found all over the world. In the Czech Republic, the number of SVLs is particularly high in the Moravian-Silesian Region and the Ústí nad Labem Region. These areas are usually populated by various groups of people (e.g. minorities, immigrants, Roma, poor). In socially excluded localities, the level of health education is low and, due to risky behaviour, there is a higher prevalence of certain non-infectious diseases and infectious diseases such as hepatitis C, HIV/AIDS, syphilis. It is therefore important to pay attention to these localities in the area of prevention, especially primary (education) and secondary (early detection of infections). The pilot testing, which was conducted this year, i.e. in 2023 under the auspices of the Health Institute based in Ostrava, revealed insufficient education and awareness in taking care of their own health among people in localities burdened with social exclusion. An increased incidence of infectious diseases in this population was also noticed, especially Hepatitis C. In order to protect the entire population, it would be desirable to respond to this situation with a mobile service, bringing it directly to the citizens.
