AnotationThe purpose of the project is to implement a pilot screening of the health status of the inhabitants of southern Madagascar. Screening will focus on priority infectious and non-infectious diseases. It will include measurement of blood pressure, blood sugar, and total cholesterol, assessment of nutritional status, or measurement of body circumferences. It will also include tests for infectious diseases of global importance, especially HIV, tuberculosis, viral hepatitis B and C, and syphilis. An oncological screening will also be included, specifically a fecal occult blood test. As part of this pilot screening, 200 people will be examined. The aim is to check whether field screening of this type can be performed and also to identify diseases that occur in the given area. The findings of this pilot screening should be followed by a larger-scale screening, which will be implemented based on the cooperation of the Faculty of Medicine with other organizations.
