Paper of the month of April of the European Stroke Organisation for researchers of the University of Ostrava!

The European Stroke Organisation praised the publication of the team of scientists led by Prof. Školoudík as the best manuscript for the month of April. In the randomized CERCAS trial, the authors compared the safety and efficacy of carotid endarterectomy with stent removal (CEASE) and repeat percutaneous transluminal angioplasty with/without stenting (rePTA/S) in patients with in-stent carotid restenosis. The rePTA/S group had a higher rate of restenosis compared to the CEASE group (average 20.9% versus 0%), otherwise, the two groups did not differ in results. was to verify the safety and effectiveness of CEASE as the method of choice in the treatment of patients with in-stent restenosis.
