AnotationThe aim of the project is the application of artificial intelligence methods (so-called deep learning) for automatic detection and evaluation of selected areas of the brain based on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of the brain, computed tomography (CT) of the brain and transcranial sonography. Within the project, we propose a method of using neural networks for the delimitation of selected brain structures, subsequent image analysis and evaluation of the degree of intensity / density / echogenicity of the structure. The outputs will then be compared with the visual evaluation of the expert, or histological findings. If the results are comparable to the evaluation of a person skilled in the art, radiological methods can be used as a support tool for early diagnosis and monitoring of progressive neurodegenerative diseases. Project output is software. The project will be implemented in effective cooperation between the applicant (TESCO SW a.s.) and a research organization (University of Ostrava: Medical Research Center of the Medical Faculty of the University of Ostrava and the Institute for Research and Applications of Fuzzy Modeling).
