AnotationThe heel valgus position in children is a highly discussed topic amongst professionals in orthopaedics, pediatrics and rehabilitation. From the kinesiological, biomechanical and clinical point of view, the issue of heel valgus is considered significant. The approach to the solution of the heel valgus position is divided and depends on the personal experience and attitude of the physician or physiotherapist. Physicians often recommend footwear with a firm heel counter, elastic and well flexible sole. They also prescribe orthopaedic insoles to prevent excessive pronation in the subtalar joint during walking. There is often a problem with the application of orthopaedic insoles, whether from the point of view of the suitability of the footwear for the orthopaedic insoles, or the significant reduction of foot space in the shoe. Physiotherapists often recommend a more active way. They suggest a variety of rehabilitation exercises that aims are to activate the muscles of the foot and to train the patient to self-control the foot to. This ability is being lost due to the fact that the children are put on shoes when they pull themselves to stand. Kinesiotape is used to strengthen the effect of heel valgus therapy. Kinesiotape is applied to both children and adults. Currently there is no study which investigates the influence of kinesiotape on selected parameters of the gait in children with heel valgus position, either in terms of immediate effect or long-term monitoring. Therefore, this project is focuses on monitoring changes in dynamic parameters of the gait in children with heel valgus by applying kinesiotape and studying the immediate and long-term effects (three months).
