AnotationForeign studies suggest that there is a more frequent occurrence of eating disorders among juveniles with diabetes mellitus compared to those without it. Manipulation with insulin is the most common way diabetics try to avoid weight gain or reduce their weight. These practices are high-risk and increase the likelihood of late complications of diabetes, especially the incidence of diabetic retinopathy. The aim of care for diabetics should therefore be prevention of eating disorders followed by education of the high-risk population. It is essential to capture this risk and warning signs indicating eating disorders that include disturbed eating attitudes. There is no screening tool available to capture this risk in the Czech cultural environment. The aim of the research will be to determine the incidence of the risk of eating disorders in girls and young women with diabetes mellitus type 1 and to validate the tool to screen for the risk of eating disorders in diabetics.
