"Go after your dream, it's worth it," says Klára Čermáková, a second-year dentistry student at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ostrava

Dentistry was a big dream for Klára Čermáková. And although it initially seemed like she wouldn't be able to fulfill it anytime soon, she didn't give up. After the dental medicine program received accreditation, she applied to the University of Ostrava, and she succeeded.

He originally wanted to become a commercial pilot, but he had to give up on that dream due to health issues. Fortunately, he soon found another passion, natural sciences, and decided to pursue a medical career. Like most high school students, he applied to almost all medical faculties and was accepted into most of them. Why did Ostrava win his heart? We asked Ladislav Král, a student at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Ostrava, about this and more. The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ostrava has a branch workplace in Malawi

At the beginning of January, doctors from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ostrava returned from Malawi, where they continued the long-standing efforts of the non-profit organization International Humanity. The mission included Rastislav Maďar, the organization's chairman and current Dean of the Faculty. The Czech hospital in Fanuelu has become a branch of the Faculty of Medicine.

Innovative research in gene therapy is taking place in Ostrava

“We might be leaders in cell therapies in Central and Eastern Europe,” says Associate Professor Michal Šimíček, a scientist who brings his extensive international experience to Ostrava. He is systematically developing new treatment methods with his team and his research offers great hope for oncology patients.
