Ph.D. Student Positions – Immuno-Biophysics Lab

The Immuno-Biophysics Lab within the Blood Cancer Research Group (BCRG) at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ostrava, is seeking highly motivated and talented Ph.D. students to join our team.

Our research focuses on T cell and natural killer (NK) cell biology, combining advanced imaging, optogenetics, cell engineering (e.g., CAR-T/NK), and synthetic biology to uncover the biophysical principles of immune cell signaling. In particular, we study membrane organization, receptor clustering, and spatial dynamics of signaling. By integrating cutting-edge imaging, biophysical manipulation, and synthetic biology approaches, we aim to precisely control immune cell activity and develop innovative strategies for immune modulation. We collaborate closely with other research groups within the BCRG and with international collaborators.

Eligibility & Requirements

  • Applicant should hold Master's degree in biology, physics, biophysics, or a related field
  • Strong interest in immunology, biophysics, imaging, optogenetics, and/or cell engineering
