The Dean of Faculty of Medicine University of Ostrava announces a selection procedure for position:
- Specialist (senior) in hematooncology
The Immuno-Biophysics Lab within the Blood Cancer Research Group (BCRG) is seeking motivated and talented researcher.
Type of Systematized Position:
- Postdoktorand.
Expected Start of Employment
- 1. 10. 2025 or by an agreement.
Expected Working Load:
- 5 %; on a fixed-term basis for the duration of the LERCO project (maximum until December 31, 2027).
Qualifications and Other Requirements:
- PhD with a suitable specialization.
- Scientific research and publication activity in the given or related field.
- Practical experience focused on biochemistry, cell biology, viral transduction, immunology, biophysics, imaging, optogenetics, or cell engineering is a plus.
- Previous work experience in a similar position will be an advantage.
- Knowledge of English (B2) for communication with our foreign researchers and foreign suppliers (web, email).
- Knowledge of working with standard MS office software, knowledge of other software in the field of molecular biology and biochemistry is an advantage.
- Independent research ability and leadership skills required.
- Reliable, diligence and capablity of working in a team.
- Very good organizational and communication skills.
- Also suitable for Ph.D. graduates.
Language in Which the Selection Procedure Will Be Conducted:
- Czech and/or English.
Salary Conditions:
- In accordance with the Internal Salary Regulations of the University of Ostrava.
Job Description:
- Participation in the LERCO project CZ.10.03.01/00/22_003/0000003 within the research program VP 6 "Research and Development of New Therapeutic Methods for Blood Cancers." You will investigate the biophysical principles underlying immune cell signaling, with particular emphasis on membrane and receptors organization and their spatial dynamics. You will collaborate closely with other research groups within the BCRG and with international collaborators. Our group has a strong interest in cutting-edge, interdisciplinary research in T cell and natural killer (NK) cell biology, using techniques and approaches such as advanced imaging, optogenetics, cell engineering (e.g., CAR-T/NK cells) and synthetic biology.
