About Erasmus+

Erasmus+ is a European Union exchange programme that enables university students to study at various higher education institutions across Europe.

Students of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ostrava, who wish to learn how healthcare systems operate in other countries and gain invaluable experience for their future profession, have the opportunity to participate in a study stay or a traineeship – either during or after their studies – within the Erasmus+ programme.

Traineeships are open to students of bachelor′s, master′s, and doctoral degree programmes, in both full-time and part-time study modes. To be eligible, students must meet the required language and academic prerequisites and have completed at least the first year of their studies by the time of departure.

Both study stays and traineeships may last up to 12 months per study cycle, and participation is possible repeatedly.

A study stay is a semester-long period of study at a partner higher education institution abroad. For this purpose, the Faculty of Medicine has concluded bilateral Erasmus+ agreements with more than sixty universities.

A traineeship is a practical placement in an organisation, company, training, or research centre of the student′s choice, lasting between 2 and 12 months.

A graduate traineeship can be carried out at an institution of the graduate′s choice for a minimum of 60 calendar days. It must take place within one year after graduation, including the duration of the traineeship. All required documents must be signed while the applicant still has student status.

Detailed information about the Erasmus+ programme can be found at Dům zahraniční spolupráce website or by contacting the faculty Erasmus coordinator at the Faculty of Medicine.
