How to Apply
If you are interested in participating in the Erasmus+ programme, you need to make your decision and submit your application one year in advance.
Your main contact and guide throughout the entire process will be the Erasmus coordinators of the Faculty of Medicine and your respective department.
We also recommend attending Mobility Day, where you will receive detailed information and hear the experiences of students who have already taken part in a study stay or traineeship. Mobility Day usually takes place in November – you will receive information about the exact date by email.
Before Departure
- Check eligibility for study stay or traineeship
Verify that you meet the qualification criteria of the Erasmus+ programme. - Choose a partner university or host organisation
Select a partner university for your study stay and make sure that it offers courses relevant to your field of study and that the language of instruction suits your skills.
For a traineeship, find an organisation where you would like to gain experience – you may use recommendations from teachers, former participants, or contact an organisation directly. - Submit your application for study stay/traineeship
Fill in the application in the university portal and submit it to your departmental coordinator. Applications are usually open in November or December, as determined by the faculty coordinator.
Check the scholarship rates for your chosen destination country. - Selection procedure
The selection is carried out by the relevant department within a deadline set by the departmental coordinator.
Evaluation is based on academic performance, motivation, language competence, and possibly other criteria as decided by the department.
Students are informed about the results afterwards. - Mobility administration
The student consults all administrative steps with the departmental and faculty coordinator and fills in and signs the Learning Agreement.
Once the host university approves the student′s admission, the student arranges insurance and signs the Grant Agreement, on the basis of which the scholarship is paid.
More details can be found in the University of Ostrava regulations.
After Return
After completing the study stay, the student must submit:
- a Confirmation of Stay (confirming the exact duration of the stay),
- a Transcript of Records (list of completed courses and credits obtained abroad), and
- an online final report (EU Survey).
The recognition of courses and credits is fully within the competence of individual departments/institutes and the programme guarantor.
Students should consult the process of credit recognition with the International Relations Office and the Study Department of the faculty.
Unless otherwise stated in the Learning Agreement, the student must earn at the host institution a number of credits equivalent to at least 20 ECTS per semester (for bachelor′s and master′s programmes). For doctoral studies, no minimum credit limit is set.
