The Dean of Faculty of Medicine University of Ostrava announces a selection procedure for position:
- Laboratory technician orientated on flow cytometry in hematooncology research
Expected working time:
- 100%
Expected entry into the employment:
- October 2023 or by an agreement
Qualification and other prerequisites:
- BSc/MSc / with a biological specialization with practical experience from a laboratory focused on molecular or cell biology, biochemistry or similar field (at least during the study)
- Theoretical knowledge of immunology/hematology and revious practical experience with flow cytometry are advantageous
- Good knowledge of English (B2) for communication with our foreign researchers and foreign suppliers (web, email)
- Very good organizational and communication skills
- Knowledge of working with standard office software
- Reliable, careful personality and capablity of working in a team
- Suitable for graduates

Description of the work position:
The technician as a research assistant will be responsible for maintaining the research laboratory operations. The main tasks will be processing of material (peripheral blood, bone marrow, or soft tissues) in accordance with standard operation protocols for sample preparation in flow cytometry, measurements on cytometers and their routine maintenance. Further tasks may involve magnetic bead cell separation (MACS) and isolation of DNA/RNA. Indivisible part of the position will be also data evidency in table software and communication with colleagues regarding the organization of work tasks. The technician will be also involved in the day-to-day running of the laboratory, such as ordering stock, preparation of solutions, and maintenance of laboratory books.
