Job Description:
The Blood Cancer Research Group at the Department of Hematooncology of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Ostrava, is seeking a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral researcher to join our team, focusing on the preclinical development of natural killer (NK) cell therapy products. The successful candidate will be critical in advancing our research and will contribute to establishing a cell therapy-focused start-up company and a newly planned manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and perform biological experiments on the preclinical development of NK cell therapy products, including cell culture, cell gene engineering, genetic modifications, in vitro and in vivo functional assays, and molecular biology techniques.
- Analyse and interpret experimental results using appropriate statistical methods and software.
- Present research findings at regular group meetings, workshops, and conferences, both nationally and internationally.
- Supervise and mentor young scientists and technicians working on the project.
- Write and contribute to scientific publications, reports, and grant applications.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and partners in academia and industry.
- Participate in establishing and developing a cell therapy-focused start-up company and a manufacturing facility.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Immunology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Proven experience in preclinical research, with a strong focus on cell therapy product development, preferably in the context of blood cancer or immunotherapy.
- Hands-on experience in cell culture, molecular biology techniques, and animal handling is essential.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
- A track record of scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals.
