Key areas of research at the Department of Imaging Methods

1. 3D centre project – teaching facilities for medical students and postgraduates
2. Staff at the Ostrava University Hospital’s RDG Institute (specializing in intervention neuroradiology and angiology) are participating in the 4MEDI project (Science and Technology Park at the hospital)
3. MR in relation to neurosciences and molecular imaging, cardio and pediatrics for MR 3T equipment
4. 3D centre – teleradiography and equipment for transplanting autologous bone marrow and fatty tissue stem cells
5. 3D evaluation of human tissue
6. Archive for teaching purposes

Open source radiation therapy:

• Thyroid carcinoma – optimization of thyreo-elimination therapy to minimize radiation exposure, dosimetric studies
• Therapy for benign joint conditions – in cooperation with the Orthopedics Department of the Ostrava City Hospital (radiosynoviorthesis of medium-sized and small joints, evaluation of therapeutic effects, optimization of procedures)
• Therapy for benign joint conditions – in cooperation with the Orthopedics Department of the Ostrava City Hospital (radiosynoviorthesis of knee joints after total endoprosthesis, evaluation of the effect of radioyttrium on endoprosthetic materials)
• Introduction of therapy for malignant conditions as part of plans to launch new radiopharmaceuticals in the Czech Republic
