AnotationThe aim of the project is identifying and comparing attitudes to the issue of death and dying of persons with mental disabilities in institutional care of employees who care directly and clients of residency. The survey will be done with more methodologically approches which is triangulation, where is connected qualitative (focused groups) approach with quantitative survey. The basic group is comprised of nurses of all institution for people with health disabilities, who have people with mental disabilities as the target group in South- Moravian region (about 14 concerned institutions). For quantitative data capture will be made questionnaire on my own where will be questions concentrated on work with a dying client, surveying the last year of life from the medical indicators view (number of hospitalizations, opiate treatment, place of passing, etc.). Data capture in qualitative survey will be done by the form of focused groups consisting of workers in direct care and also clients with mental disabilities. The results of survey will lead to monitoring existing practise. The feedback should contribute to further education of nurses and workers in direct care. Last but not least it should give instructions for "unbundling" the death and "acceptation" of the peoples´dying process with mental disabilities in institutional care similarly as it is at common population. (if there are found any differences.).
