Cesare Hassan is Full Professor of Gastroenterology at Humanitas University in Milan. His current research focuses on several key areas:

Artificial intelligence (AI) applied to the detection and characterization of colorectal and gastrointestinal tumors.

Endoscopic innovations applied to diagnostic colonoscopy within colorectal cancer screening programs.

Endoscopic innovations applied to non-invasive or minimally invasive techniques for the diagnosis of colorectal neoplasia.

Since 2016, he has served as Chair of the Endoscopy Section of GISCOR (Gruppo Italiano Screening ColoRettale). He sits on the editorial boards of several prestigious journals, including Gut, Endoscopy, and Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, and has repeatedly received the Best International Reviewer Award. He is also a member of the Scientific Committee for United European Gastroenterology Week (UEGW) and ESGE Days.
