Andrew M. Demchuk currently serves as Professor in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences and the Department of Radiology at the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary. He is also the Director of the Calgary Stroke Program within Alberta Health Services.

His research focuses on stroke diagnosis and acute treatment, neuroimaging, outcome prediction, and more recently on applications of artificial intelligence in clinical research. He has contributed to several landmark studies, including ESCAPE and PREDICT RCT, which have significantly influenced clinical practice.

He is the author or co-author of numerous publications, including original full-length articles in leading journals such as Stroke, The Lancet, Neurology, and The New England Journal of Medicine. Professor Demchuk also serves as an active reviewer for a number of scientific journals and organizations and has held important roles within Canadian stroke organizations.
