The Dean of Faculty of Medicine, University of Ostrava announces the selection procedure for position:
- VP8 Leader/ Excellent Worker in the Project LERCO
The position is in accordance with conditions of the project Life Environment Research Center Ostrava (LERCO, reg. number CZ.10.03.01/00/22_003/0000003), Research programme 8, „Environmental Epidemiology as a Tool for Life Quality Improvement of Industrial Environment“.
Expected Start Date:
- August 1st, 2023 or as per agreement
Expected working hours:
- 6 hours per week (15%)
Qualification and other preconditions:
- completed Ph.D. education in epidemiology or related area, as advantage senior lecturer (doc.) or professor (prof.) in the mentioned area
- active publication and project activity
- previous international cooperation in a research team
- experience in solving scientific-research projects
- experience in leading a research team
- R3 – Established/R4 – Leading (research group)
- Knowledge of the English language at the B2 level in written and oral communication
Job description:
Leader/Excellent Worker determines the direction of research, development, and innovation activities in the relevant area. As a leading scientific personality, who significantly participates in the development of the area on an international scale and leads research teams. He/she independently solves complex scientific-research/development tasks of importance for the development of the area, initiates research project, leads research team, and cooperates with foreign researchers. Has active publication activity according to the requirements of the standards of the creative activity at the University of Ostrava.
Wage conditions:
- according to the Internal Wage Regulation.

Applications:
Applications for the selection procedure containing all required documents should be sent electronically to the address by June 25th, 2023 at the latest.
The first round of the selection procedure will take place without the personal presence of the applicants, with the evaluation of materials submitted by the selection committee. Only selected applicants will be invited to a personal meeting.
